RIDING TO THE RESCUE They don’t count the number of legs. They just get you out. Members of the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department used their jaws of life equipment just after 12-noon Tuesday to free Maribor, a thoroughbred horse, and Fervor, an Arabian horse, from the wreckage of their horse trailer about three miles west of Rockdale. The trailer was being towed by Karen Wheeler of Georgetown, who was not injured. Veterinarian Dr. Tom Gary rushed to the scene and partially anesthetized the horses to facilitate rescue and a wrecker driven by Chris Pounders stabilized the trailer so firefighters could work in safety.
