Pot arrest made Monday at Rockdale High School
Lt. J. D. Newlin said school offi- cials discovered marijuana and notified police about 11 a.m.
Because of the offense’s location the youth was charged with possession of marijuana in a drug-free zone.
The case was turned over to juvenile authorities.
Police are also working on the theft of a laptop computer from the Rockdale ISD bus barn.
Other incidents reported to police during the week included credit card/debit card abuse, criminal mischief, failure to identify and public intoxication.
Accidents Vehicles driven by Leslie Davenport of Rockdale and Shannon Powell of San Augustine were in collision at 3:42 p.m. April 28 in the parking lot of Dr. Larry Jones’ dental office, according to police.
No injuries were reported and damage estimates were not available.
Citations issued during the past week included seven for not using seat belts, six for running stop signs, five for no valid MVI sticker, three each for driving while licence invalid, failure to report change of address or name and failure to maintain financial responsibility and one each for defective headlamp, disregarding official traffic control device, failure to display driver’s license, no Class M endorsement and operating a vehicle with expired plates.
Officers responded to 153 total calls for service during the week, including 85 through the 911 system.
Police made nine arrests on warrants during the week including one each for theft, criminal mischief and failure to identify and six on traffic offenses.
