Country Preacher’s Fishing Hole seeks donations to acquire building

Salter Chapel AME building. Salter Chapel AME building. The Country Preacher’s Fishing Hole has been given the old wooden Salter Chapel AME Church building in Minerva, to be moved to the Fishing Hole site in the Praesel subdivision.

“We can get this moved for approximately $8,000,” said Rev. Leslie Adams, the Country Preacher, “but we do not have the funds or the laborers to do so; therefore, we are calling upon citizens of the Rockdale area for assistance.

“The building can be moved in two or three sections, or it can be torn down and the lumber used to erect a building on our lot,” Adams said. “It would give us a place to house The Country Preacher’s Fishing Hole items (furniture, clothing and other items), to protect them from the weather.”

The Fishing Hole, a mission of Adams Ministries, established in 2002, is a non-profit organization dedicated to “Christian witnessing and helping others,” Adams said. “Some of our ministries include nursing homes, radio outreach, thrift outlet, and free furniture and merchandise to those who cannot pay due to various hardships in their lives.”

“We are not in competition with other charities,” he continued. “We provide furniture, dishes and other household items free to those who are in need and we sell to those who can pay to help keep the ministry going. We are a ministry operating strictly on donations.”

Anyone who can be of assistance in relocating the building can send checks payable to Adams Ministries. For more information call Adams, 446- 0752 or 446-0749.
