Jackson

Memorial services for Jack Jackson, 65, of Rockdale were to be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Phillips & Luck- ey Funeral Home with Minister Charlie Grant of Rockdale Church of Christ officiating.

Mr. Jackson died Sunday, May 2, at his home near Rockdale.

He was born June 4, 1944, in Wharton to William and Ollie (Fitzgerald) Jackson.

He married Sandra Sanford on June 20, 1969, in Houston.

Mr. Jackson was a Rockdale resident for the past 28 years, coming here from Spring. He was also formerly of Katy, Denver and College Station.

He was a graduate of Katy High School and received his bachelor’s degree in engineering from Texas A&M University.

Mr. Jackson was a U.S. Marine veteran, ser v ing two tours in Vietnam.

He worked as an engineer w ith Luminant in Rockdale, retiring in February 2008 after 28 years.

Mr. Jackson was a member of Rockdale Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors are his wife, Sandra Jackson of Rockdale; three sons, Michael Sean Jackson of Houston, Mark Allan Jackson of Rockdale, Matthew Shane Jackson of Elk City, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, David Michael Jackson, Kathrine Jackson, Lucas Jackson and Makaila Jackson; his mother, Ollie Jackson of Wallaceville; and a sister, Doris Cormier of Wallaceville.
