Alcoa-Luminant lawsuit will get under way Monday
CAMERON—The long-anticipated legal battle between Alcoa and Luminant will get under way Monday in 20th District Court.
Alcoa filed suit against Luminant on Aug. 22, 2008, and while the litigation has been amended several times the basic allegations haven’t changed. Full Story
‘Check serial numbers,’ sheriff cautions buyers
The Milam County Sheriff’s Department believes three men charged with running a rural burglary ring sold items in Milam County.
Now the department is asking the public to help them check the serial numbers of those items to see if they’re part of the stolen property in a multi-county area. Full Story
Forgery investigation leads to drug arrest on Monday
An investigation into the theft, and forging, of checks totaling over $1,000, led to the arrest of a Rockdale man on drug charges Monday afternoon.
Dylon Wayne Caffey, 18, was arrested in the Budget Inn motel at 4:45 p.m., according to Lt. J. D. Newlin.
Caffey was charged with possession of a controlled substance and four counts of forgery. Bond was set at $35,000. Full Story
