Memorial Day program
Rockdale American Legion Carlyle Post 358 w ill hold a Memorial Day observance at 10 a.m. Monday, May 31, at Wolf Park, according to Art Free, post commander.

Pot, ‘tampering’ charges filed in Sunday incident
A 17-year-old Rockdale man was charged with marijuana possession (less than 2 ounces) and tampering with physical evidence after a Sunday night incident on Scarbrough Street.
Lt. J. D. Newlin said Ofc. S. A. Smith observed a suspect toss away a baggie, which turned out to contain marijuana, as the officer approached. Full Story
Final rural burglary suspect arrested, booked into jail
The last of three suspects sought in a series of rural burglaries in North Milam County has been arrested and booked into the county jail.
Eugenio Davilla Hernandez, 41, of Temple was arrested Thursday and charged with theft of property ($1,500 to $20,000) and engaging in organized criminal activity.
He remains in the county jail in lieu of $50,000 bond. Full Story

Troopers probe four Rockdale area crashes
No serious injuries were reported in four traffic crashes investigated by DPS state troopers over the past week in the Rockdale area.
Trooper Mark Berry said vehicles driven by Alexandra Reyes, 16, of Pflugerville, and 37-yearold Elizabeth Hanley of Cameron sustained extensive damage in a 4:50 p.m. Friday collision on FM 486 north of the San Gabriel community. Full Story
