Meadowbrook starts summer youth program

Meadowbrook Baptist Church’s summer children’s program has begun, according to an announcement by Rev. Rick Hertless, pastor.

“We meet each Wednesday from 6 until 7 p.m. May through August,” Rev. Hertless said. “Children ages 5 through 11 are invited to attend each week.”

During the month of June, he said, a special series of “Donkey Tales” will be featured. “This will include a Bible story, puppet show, crafts and prizes,” the pastor said.

“Youth 5-11 are invited to join us for lots of fun and activities which will continue each Wednesday through July and August,” Rev. Hertless said.

Monthly men’s breakfast held second Tuesday

A community men’s fellowship breakfast is held from 7 to 8 a.m. each second Tuesday, rotating between several local churches.

Purpose is to bring men of the community together for Christian fellowship. Next breakfast will be June 8 at St. John’s United Methodist Church.

Velvet Ridge Singers coming to Shiloh BC

First Shiloh Baptist Church, 100 CR 481, Thrall, invites the public to hear the Velvet Ridge Singers at 7 p.m.. Saturday, May 22. The group’s web site is velvetridgesingers. com.

Milano FBC youth set spaghetti fund-raiser

Milano First Baptist Church’s pre-teen youth group will hold a spaghetti dinner fund-raiser on Saturday, May 22, according to spokesperson Sharon Beatty.

Serving will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the church fellowship hall and plates will be sold for donation. Proceeds will be used to send the pre-teen group to camp this summer.
