Jurca

CA MERON—Leon Edward Jurc a, 83, of Cameron died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at his home.

Private family services will be held at Liberty Cemetery at a later date.

Mr. Jurca was born Feb. 27, 1927, in Buckholts to Edward and Janie (Hundle) Jurca.

He was a Buck holts High School graduate.

He married Ruth Viola Elsik and she preceded him in death in 2005.

Mr. Jurca was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Force.

He was the retired chief of operations at Olin Teague Veterans Hospital in Temple.

Mr. Jurca was a member of Taylor Valley Baptist Church, VFW Post No. 2010 and the Central Texas Hospital Auxiliary.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Milton, and a sister, Florene Abel.

Survivors include a son, Ronald Jurca and wife Theresa of Heidenheimer; a daughter, Sherry Briggs and husband Kerry of Aledo; a brother, Wilburn Jurca of Irving; two granddaughters, Jennifer Briggs of Navasota, Robyn Jurca of Temple; and a grandson, Brian Jurca of Heidenheimer.

Memorials may be made to the Central Texas Hospital Auxiliary.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
