Local realtor Currey recognized by TREC

Currey Currey AUSTIN—Local realtor Milton “Jim” Currey was recognized by the Texas Real Estate Comm ission as one of select group who have held a real estate license for fifty consecutive years.

Currey, who received his real estate license in 1954 and operated Jim Currey Realty for half a century, was among a group of 167 Texans honored last week.

“Fifty years in any profession is a true accomplishment,” Chairman John D. Eckstrum said, “and we are pleased to recognize these folks and honor this monumental achievement. We thank them for their unwavering dedication to serve the people of Texas.”

Honorees for 2010 includes all TREC licensees that have been continually licensed from 1957 through 1960.

Currey turned over ownership of his office to Carol Matous Worley in February 1999.

Worley, who has been licensed for 24 years and a broker for 20 years, then changed the name to Carol Matous-Jim Currey Realty.
