Freeman

WEST JEFFERSON, NC— Graveside services for Edwin “Ed” Freeman, 69, of West Jefferson, North Carolina, formerly of Rockdale, were held Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Old Bethel Cemetery with Rev. Rick Gray officiating.

Mr. Freeman died Tuesday, April 20.

He was born Jan. 10, 1941, in Mexia to Novice and Edna Pauline (Sawyer) Freeman.

Mr. Freeman was a 1959 graduate of Rockdale High School.

He traveled all over the world serving and retiring from the U.S. Navy.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.

Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Carolyn; his sons, Steven Freeman and Angela, Michael Freeman and wife Erika, all of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Michael Weber and wife Tracy of Andersonville, Tennessee, Joseph Weber and wife Tonyea of Mobile, Alabama, a daughter, Roseann Bishop and husband Joseph of Stowe, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Austin, Cody, Dalton, Blake, Andrew, Mathew and Colin Freeman, all of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Jacob and Ashley Weber of Andersonville, Tennessee, Tiffani Weber of Mobile, Alabama, Patrick and Cooper Bishop of Stowe, Pennsylvania; and a sister, Carole Ann Regmund and husband Larry of Bryan.

Pallbearers were Austin Freeman, Joseph Bishop, Joseph Weber, Michael Weber, Matt Regmund and Tom Regmund.
