Cooking well with diabetes

If you are a diabetic or a family member of a diabetic, sign up for the “Cooking Well with Diabetes.” The four-part series can help you gain a better understanding of diabetic meals as well as give you new recipes. Texas AgriLife Extension Service-Milam County Office is conducting a “Cooking Well with Diabetes” series in Milano during June and July.

The course is free, but we are asking you to pre-register to prepare handouts and food samples for the class. Interested persons can pre-register by contacting the Milam County Extension Office at 254- 697-7045 , 100 E . 1st Street in Cameron or email ce-walker@tamu.edu.

Dates and topic in the series include:

June 30 –“Carbohydrate Foods”

July 7–“Making Recipes with Fat Better for You”

July 14–“Double-Pleasure Side Dishes”

July 21–“Diabetes Reunion” (Holiday Recipes)

Each session will last from 2-4 p.m. in the Milano United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
