Jubilee Days rodeo returns June 11-12

Jubilee Days, Rockdale’s annual summertime event, returns to its traditional place on the calendar, Homecoming week, with a ranch rodeo and carnival.

Events w ill get under way Thursday w ith barrel racing starting at 8 p.m. in the Fair Park arena and the rodeo will continue through Saturday night.

There will be free admission to the park for the carnival Thursday through Saturday.


Tickets w ill be sold at the rodeo gate. Admission is $5 and children 12 and under get in free.


Bar rel racing is at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Roping & Cutting Club Arena.

Ranch rodeo action is on tap for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Cameron Rotary golf tournament June 4-5

CA MERON—The Cameron Rotary Club invites local golfers to tee it up for the civic organizations annual Golf Tournament at the Cameron Country Club. This year’s event will be held on June 4-5.

Festivities begin with a social at 6:30 on June 4 with free food.

and drinks for players and guests and fabulous auction items donated by area businesses. In addition a raffle drawing will be held for a $1,000 VISA Check Card.

The golfing gets started at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning in a 4-person scramble format. Cash prizes being awarded for the first, second and third place team, plus awards for closest to the pin and longest drive.

Sortin’ and doctorin’

A ranch rodeo consists of four team members. The events will be sorting, branding, doctoring, mugging and milking and will be open to all teams.

There will also be a featured Calf Scramble for children age 12 and under during the rodeo.

The event will be held Friday and Saturday.


Jubilee Days is sponsored by Stanley Lynd Autoplex and Rockdale Roping and Cutting Club.

Cen-Tex Thundercatz select tryouts June 5

Currently recruiting experienced, motivated and dedicated girls who love to play softball.

Tryouts for girls age 8-10 years old (Must not have turned 10 prior to January 1, 2010) at the Thorndale Girls Softball Field Saturday, June 5 at 9 a.m.

Copy of an official birth certifi- cate must be provided to tryout.
