Forest Grove VBS
Forest Grove Christian Church will hold Vacation Bible School at 8:30 a.m. June 14-18, Brandon Navarre, minister, has announced.
“Early registration is open now by calling the church office at 446- 5627,” he said.
Bible school theme is “Saddle Ridge Ranch” where children will “ride the range and round up questions about God’s plan for them,” Navarre said. VBS will include crafts, music, lessons and food every day.
On Friday there will be a finale that parents are invited to attend, and a lunch will follow.
Mt. Zion VBS June 21-25
Mt. Zion Baptist Church will hold Vacation Bible School at “Saddle Ridge Ranch” June 21-25 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. for ages 4 years old through high school, according to Pastor Luther Shelander.

First Baptist VBS ahead
First Baptist Church, 240 Green Street in Rockdale, will host their Vacation Bible School, “Saddle Ridge Ranch,” for 4-year-olds through 5th grade, according to Janet Vaughn, VBS coordinator.
“Grab your boots and head on over on Sunday, June 20 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. and we will feed you supper that night. The rest of the VBS runs Monday-Thursday, June 21-24 from 8:45 to 11:45 a.m.,” she said.
Rising Star Youth Day
Rising Star Baptist Church, 1022 Texas Street, is holding Vacation Bible School Wednesday through Friday this week from 6-8 p.m. with the theme, “The Big Sea Adventure! Exploring the Depths of God’s Love.” VBS coordinators are Kenny Dennis, Lisa Dennis and L.C. Richards.
Annual Youth Day will be Sunday, June 13 with worship at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Guest speaker will be J.B. Martin of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Austin.
Mt. Zion homecoming
Doug Evans will be guest speaker for Mt. Zion Baptist Church homecoming Sunday, June 13, according to Luther Shelander, pastor. A covered dish lunch will follow morning worship.
“For the past nine years, Bro. Evans has served as pastor for First Baptist Church, Laguna Park,” Pastor Shelander said. “Doug graduated RHS in 1979. He is the son of Joy Evans and the late Bro. Dean Evans who served as pastor at Mt. Zion through the 1970s.”
The guest speaker has just completed a four-year stint on the executive board of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. He has worked with the African Children’s Choir with a new ministry to young adults who graduate with little employment in Uganda. He and wife Becky have five grown children and three grandchildren.
Homecoming schedule: Sunday school 9:45; worship 11 a.m. Public invited.
Pecan Street VBS
Pecan Street Church of Christ, 406 Pecan Street in Rockdale, will hold its Vacation Bible School June 14-16 from 9 a.m. until noon for ages 4 years through 8th grade, according to an announcement by Brother John Mitchell.

A community men’s fellowship breakfast is held from 7 to 8 a.m. each second Tuesday, rotating between several local churches.
Purpose is to bring men of the community together for Christian fellowship.
Next breakfast will be July 13 at First Presbyterian fellowship hall.
Rockdale Aglow Community Lighthouse will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 10 at Rockdale General Store, just west of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home on US 79.
Speaker will be Shirley Lange, pastor of Trinity Fellowship in Caldwell. She and her husband Kenneth founded Trinity Fellowship Outreach Center Church, Inc. where she has been preaching since being licensed in 1998 and ordained in 1999. She is also involved in her church ladies’ ministry, “Women at the Well” which meets at 7 p.m. each first Tuesday at the church.
