Stiles Farm Field Day set June 15

The 47th annual Stiles Farm Foundation Field Day will be held Tuesday, June 15 at the Stiles Farm just east of Thrall on US 79. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. and concurrent sessions will begin at 8:30.

Featured stops of the tour will be herbicide tolerant sorghum and new weed technology, nutrient availability in row crops, new cotton systems and cotton root rot control and a review of the state variety tests. At the conclusion of field tours, commercial ag exhibits will be on hand to view, followed by lunch. There will be field demonstrations on tillage equipment, guidance systems and a presentation on seedless watermelon production.

The field day is free to attend.

Milam County crops tour June 17

The Milam County Crops Committee will hold the annual Field Crops Tour on Thursday, June 17, with registration at 8 a.m. at the Milam County Courthouse in Cameron.

Particpants will travel to field demonstrations where Extension specialists and industry representatives will lead discussions. There will also be a presentation on improved crop production.
