Reporter/Ken Esten Cooke Reporter/Ken Esten Cooke Rockdale City Council has three new faces as of Monday’s meeting. Being sworn in by City Secretary Terry Blanchard were (from left) east-side representative Joyce Dalley, who takes the seat of 15-year council member J.T. Talley, Toby Johnson, who narrowly defeated incumbent Tom Fisher, and Dr. Larry Jones, who folllows John Shoemake.

Jones said two of his top priorities are a professional web site for the city and development district, and signage along US 77 that could help steer some traffic into town.

Jones also presented plaques of appreciation to Talley, Fisher and Shoemake.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
