Thorndale cookoff June 26

THORNDALE—The 20th annual Thorndale Volunteer Fire Department Barbecue Cookoff is set for June 25-27 with activities including a softball tourney, dances and, of course, lots of cooking.

Most actvities are Saturday, June 26, and all events are at the Thorndale City Park.

Da nces w ill be 8 p.m. to 12-midnight June 25 with the People’s Choice and 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. June 26 featuring Green Whiskey.

Schedule of events:

June 25-27 All day- Softball tourney.

June 26

8 p.m. to 12-midnight— Dance, People’s Choice.

June 27

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.— Arts and crafts, food booths.

10 to 11 a.m.— 42 Tourney registration, followed by tourney at 11.

11 a.m.— Firemen’s Auxiliary turkey and dressing dinner begins.

11:30 a.m. to 12-noon— Junior washer (ages 8 to 14) pitching registration, followed by tourney at 12:15.

11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.— Horseshoe registration followed by tourney at 1 p.m.

11:30 a.m.— Opening ceremonies with Miss Thorndale and her court.

4 p.m.— Announcement of cookoff winners.
