Caywood

Services for Ella M. Caywood, 82, of Rockdale were held Monday, June 14, 2010, at First Baptist Church in Rockdale with Rev. Jack Chelf officiating. Burial followed in I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Ms. Caywood died Friday, June 11, at Scott & White Continuing Care Hospital in Temple.

She was born April 30, 1928, in Talbott Ridge in Milam County to Albert Lee Caywood and Fannie Myrtle (Martin) Caywood.

Ms. Caywood was a lifelong Rockdale resident and a graduate of Rockdale High School.

She was a member of First Baptist Church and a member of Mary Martha Sunday School Class.

Ms. Cay wood retired from Brookshire Brothers where she worked many years as a grocery clerk.

She enjoyed oil painting, baking cakes, making quilts, mowing her yard, working in the garden, working her cattle and visiting the nursing home.

Ms. Caywood was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Lee Caywood and Fannie Myrtle Caywood; a brother, Herbert N. “Spud” Caywood; and two sisters, Bertha Williams and Ivy Mae Laurence.

Survivors are a brother, Hubert Caywood and wife Wanda of Minerva; and a sister, Lillie B. Doss of Austin; also, a number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews and great-greatgreat nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Fred Debau lt, Er nest Hof f meyer, David Kaufmann, Milton Holmes, Charles Holder and Braden Byrd.

Honorary pallbearers were Blake Gearhart, Darrell Mynar, Floyd Byrd and Jimmie Burgess.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
