Cour tney A nne Grimshaw Fowler, beloved daughter, sister, friend and colleague, died May 29, 2010, at the age of 46. Bor n in Lubbock , Ju ly 8, 1963, Courtney lived in Almaty, Kazakhstan, for the last 12 years.
Courtney’s funeral will take place in Rockdale at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 19, with burial in the Salty Cemetery near Thorndale. Rev. Hugh Majors of College Station will officiate.
An accomplished businesswoman and internationallyranked dressage competitor, Courtney travelled the world as a partner with Pricewaterhouse- Coopers. Known for her zest for life, limitless energy and unique sense of humor, Courtney created close networks of friends around the world.
She is survived by her father James (Bo) and mother Darlene (Dee) Grimshaw of San Antonio, brother James A lber t Grimshaw IV and his wife Heather of Golden, Colorado, and many friends.
Courtney was in the process of building her permanent home and horse ranch near Thorndale, where she would be near her dear friends, the McWilliams family.
She was predeceased by grandparents JJ and Allene Hargett of Greenville and James and Maurine Grimshaw of Fort Worth.
Cour tney earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science and beef cattle production from Texas A&M University in 1985 and a master’s degree in public accounting from the McComb School of Business, University of Texas in Austin.
A member of the U.S. Equestrian Federation, board member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators and past-president of the Americ an Chamber of Commerce in A lmat y, Fowler conferred with the International Monetary Fund and gave presentations to worldwide business and military leaders on energy and mining taxation, contract negotiation, tax policy as well as mergers and acquisitions.
