Grisham

Services for Lester Grisham, 77, of Elgin were held Friday, June 11, 2010, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Josh Brymer officiating. Burial followed in Salty Cemetery.

Mr. Grisham died Tuesday, June 8, at Christopher House in Austin.

He was born Sept. 23, 1932, in Bland to Charlie Grisham and Inez Warren Grisham.

He married Doris Grisham on Dec. 2, 1994, in Giddings.

Mr. Grisham was an Elgin resident for the past 10 years and previously lived in Giddings and Thorndale.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Grisham was an ironworker at Alcoa, heavy equipment operator and truck driver in the oil fields and owner of Lesters Electronics in Elgin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Kevin Caffey; and three brothers, Jack, Curtis and Clarence Grisham.

Survivors are his wife, Doris Grisham of Elgin; two sons, Wesley Grisham and wife Denise of Thrall, Charlie Grisham and wife Jan of Thorndale; five stepdaughters, Denece Rhines and husband Glenn of Arlington, Donna Swenson of Thrall, Nell Caf fey of Thorndale, Connie McMahan and husband David of Bastrop, Sharon Bunch of Denver, Colorado; a brother, George Grisham of Mount Ida, Arkansas; and a sister, Catherine Whittaker of Huntington Beach, California; also, 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Keith Caffey, Miles Grisham, Gene Brymer, Danny Brade, Steven McMahan, Scott Holder, Glenn Rhines and Brian Rogers.

Honorary pallbearers were James Brymer, Bobby Sheppard, Howard Eisenbeck, Stacy Perlinger and David McMahan.
