Surovik

CAMERON—Funeral services for Lydia Frances Surovik, 92, of Cameron were held Monday, June 14, 2010, at Ocker Brethren Church with Rev. Mark Sebek officiating. Burial followed in Ocker Brethren Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Surovik died Friday, June 11, in a Cameron nursing center.

She was born Aug. 20, 1917, in Barclay to Joseph and Frances (Koslosky) Sebek.

She married Joe Thomas Surovik Jr. and he preceded her in death in 2001.

Mrs. Surovik had worked at Baughs Shoe Co. in Temple for many years.

She was a member of Ocker Brethren Church.

Mrs. Surovik was also preceded in death by a son, James Edward Surovik, eight brothers and sisters and a grandchild.

Survivors include two sons, Joe Thomas Surovik III of Port O’Connor, John William Surovik of Cameron; three daughters, Frances Gayle Gilliam of Angleton, Sharlyn Sandra Hicks of Paradise, Diana Faye Norwood of Duncanville; two brothers, Edward Sebek of Br yan, Bill Sebek of Temple; and a sister, Alice Barr of Austin; also, 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and three great-greatgrandchildren.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
