La Grone La Grone DEADWOOD—Funeral services for James Clayton La Grone, 71, of the Deadwood community of Panola County were held Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Deadwood United Met ho dist Church Family Life Center with Rev. Mervin Scott, Bro. Harold Gunstanson and Rev. Ben Smith officiating.

A Masonic graveside service followed in Deadwood Cemetery under the auspices of the Carthage Masonic Lodge No. 521 AF&AM.

Mr. La Grone died June 13, at his home in Deadwood.

He was born on May 5, 1939, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Mr. La Grone was a member of the Gregg County Bar Association, a nationally recognized lecturer in natural gas and gas pipeline issues, and a Mason.

Survivors include his wife, Sidna La Grone; a daughter, Jennifer La Grone Carlson; two sons, Clayton Gillis La Grone and Bradley Michael La Grone; a sister, Diane La Grone Page; and his stepmother, Veltya Powell La Grone.
