Milano cheerleaders set annual Rah-Rah Camp

MILANO–Milano High School cheerleaders have set their annual Rah-Rah camp for July 15-16 at the MHS gymnasium, sponsor Laci Youree said. The camp, for ages four to 11, will run from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each day.

Registration is $25 per child and includes a shirt and snacks. Youree said that if registered by July 1, participants will receive their shirt at camp. If registered after that date, shirts will be received before first pep rally.

Two Rockdalians named to Baylor list

WACO–Two Rockdale residents have been named to the Dean’s Academic Honor List for the 2010 spring semester at Baylor University.

Erica Orosco Castillo and Lacy J. Talley, both of Rockdale, were named to the list. A student must be an undergraduate with a minimum grade point average of 3.7, while enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours.

Local residents named to TC honor lists

TEMPLE–Temple College has announced the President’s Honor List and the Vice President’s Honor List in recognition of high academic achievement for the 2010 spring session.

“These students have distinguished themselves by setting and maintaining high academic goals,” Dr. Mark A. Smith, Vice President for Educational Services, said.

To be named to the President’s Honor List a student must be taking at least nine semester hours of work and must have a grade point average of at least 4.0. To be named to the Vice President’s Honor List a student must be taking nine semester hours and have at least a 3.5 GPA.

Lincoln on NY’s Utica College Dean’s list

UTICA, NY–Rockdale resident Matt Shane Lincoln was been named to the Utica College Dean’s List and High Honors for the spring 2010 semester.

Lincoln complied a 3.5 grade point average during the semester. He is majoring in cybersecurity and information assurance.

Rockdale residents earn TSTC honors

WACO–Six Rockdale residents have earned places on the Dean’s Honor Roll for the 2010 spring semester at Texas State Technical College.

Rodney Barcak, Crespin Carrazales, Adam Dietrich, Lance Lewis, Christian Penuela and Lorenzo Robertson were among those recognized with a scholastic achievement of a 3.5 to 3.9 grade point average for the semester.

Barcak is an industrial systems and engineering major; Carrazales is a welding technology major; Dietrich is an automotive technology major; Lewis is an instrumentation/ computerized controls and robotics major; Penuela is a computer science technology major; and, Robertson an industrial systems and engineering major.
