Medical odyssey over; ‘I’m glad to be home’

Dear editor,

I hope you will print this so people will know I’m finally back home. I’ve been incapacitated since January and just got back to my home town Saturday.

On Jan. 21, I had my right knee replaced in Bryan, then was in the hospital here in Rockdale for two weeks rehab, come home a few days and developed pneumonia.

Then I was home a couple of days with oxygen tubes all around and got my big feet tangled up and fell over backwards. I got a compound fracture of my left wrist.

I ended up in Pflugerville Care Center. I thought my back had also been injured when I fell, so I finally got an MRI.

I got the results six weeks and one day after I fell. It showed a cracked vertebrae in my back!

Instead of wearing a brace for six weeks, I had a back operation. The doctor put some kind of cement in the crack and it’s been fine.
I am so happy to be home.
