Ritter’s smokes competition at Thorndale

Annual cookoff draws 64 teams on Saturday

Reporter/Mike Brown THORNDALE—Ritter’s Barbeque of Point won the brisket and pork ribs divisions Saturday to claim the overall title as the best team of 64 competing City Park.

The annual cookoff is sponsored by the Thorndale Volunteer Fire Department and includes a weekend of activities.

Under the Influence, pitmaster Hank Smith of Elgin, was second and Shannon Bishop of Thorndale led the Barbecue Pimps team to third.
