Free TRIAD movie Thursday in Cameron

Everyone is invited to see the movie: “A Second Chance” at no charge Thursday in the Yoe High School Performing Arts Center in Cameron.

The t ime is 6:30 p.m. for refreshments, the program starts at 7 and is over, when the movie ends.

It does not get better than this. The phrase; “The best things in life are free” is true in this case. How many chances can you take the family out and pay nothing for the entertainment and refreshments?

MCT members could help their organization, if they will help spread the word.

Milam County TRIAD operates under its constitution and bylaws that were written for Milam County. All TRIADS can either adopt another set of TRIAD constitutions and bylaws or each can write its own that fits the needs of the community.

MCT recognized the importance of education, law enforcement, firemen, and EMS staff in the American society.

The seven entities that choose the nine (9) S.A.L.T. members are the Milam County Retired Teachers Association, the Milam County Sheriff, the police chiefs in C ameron, Rockd a le, a nd Thorndale, the Milam County Fire Chiefs Association, and EMS services.

Can you imagine how every day citizens could function in a free society without these dedicated people?

The pay scale in this country is backwards. The people that educate the masses, protect all equally, and give aid when emergency situations occur should be at the top of the pay scale rather than those playing games.

MCT appreciates the men and women that risk their lives to save our lives and property.

Yoe High School Principal Tommy Hooker, will give the welcome. Rev. Gene Van Noord will offer the prayer and Ted Hubert will introduce the MCT entities and those representing them.

Travis Yoakum will explain the benefits of having a TRIAD in Milam County, Sheriff David Greene gives insight on scams that target senior citizens and you.

L.C. Richards will introduce the press, MCRTA members, and others, then Franklin E. Hubert will introduce the film. He has the leading role in the movie.

MCT has done its part by presenting a quality program. Now it is up to you to fill the seats.

In filling the seats you give support and approval to the efforts made for you by the S.A.L.T. committee members.

Some important questions will be answered for you. Questions like:

• When was the MCT agreement signed?

• Is MCT connected with the Texas Attorney General’s Office (OAG)?

• Who are the entities, S.A.L.T. (Seniors And Lawmen Together) committee members and subchapter members?

• How does the MCT benefit its members and what services are offered?

• How much does it cost to receive a 9-1-1 cellular telephone and charger?

• How and where do you find the application forms, refrigerator cards?

• Where can citizens dispose of old unused and unneeded cell phones rather than polluting the landfill?

• How can you protect yourself from con artists

And the list goes on, and on, and on. You cannot afford to miss this program that is free. You are expected and your efforts to attend are truly appreciated.

This in the only meeting scheduled this year for the Milam County TRIAD membership.

Your attendance, or your noshow, will speak volumes.
