The Milano Hig h School’s va rsit y cheerleaders a nnua l Rah-Rah Cheer Camp will be 8:30–11:30 a.m. July 15-16 in the school gym. Girls ages four to 11 can participate and registration is $25. A summer volleyball camp is schedu led for Ju ly 26 -29 for girls entering fifth through seventh grades. The camp will be held from 9 a.m. until noon at the Milano High School gym. Registration is $40. Camp Tshirts will only be available for those who pre-register. Forms were sent home with the girls during school. Additional registration forms will be available in the high school office if needed.
Auction items are still needed for Kristi’s Krusaders first annual Rally for the Walk (Walk MS 2010). The Aug. 7 event will be held at Nat’s near Milano and w ill include a bike r un, auctions, pool and horseshoe tournaments, music and barbecue. Kristi’s Krusaders is headed by Kristi Ditto Bode, a former Milano resident who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) almost two years ago.
Kristi’s Krusaders are raising money for this fall’s Walk MS 2010. A ll proceeds from the benefit will help fund research to find a cure for MS. For more information about the f undraiser, contact Kristi (254-813- 2194), Marie Bakken (254-718- 0133) or Nat’s (512-455-6287).
Milano ISD has set Oct. 22- 23 as the school’s homecoming weekend. The Eagle football team will host Bartlett that Friday night. The Milano Former Students Association will sponsor its annual meal on Oct. 23 at the high school cafetorium. I will give you more details when they become available. I know there are some classes planning reunions as well.
There are many young ladies and gentleman f rom Milano participating in summer league district softball and baseball tournaments around the area. Good luck to them all.
