Indian cooking school Thursday in CameronIndian Cooking School—A few spaces are available for the Indian Cooking School set for July 15 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Budget Host Motel in Cameron. Your taste buds will have a new experience and your knowledge of world cuisines will be expanded. Our host and speaker will be Yaminie Bhakta.
A Milam County 4-H member is eligible to receive a 4-H jacket or blanket for their achievement in placing 1st in competition, blue ribbon or wins a class in a state competition. These awards are paid for by local donations from sponsors up to the UIL limit and then the 4-H member or his family pays the difference.
A 4-H’er may only win a jacket or blanket once. Those that have previously received a jacket or blanket can receive one free patch each year for winning in one of the forms of state competition as listed: record book, food show, fashion show, State 4-H Roundup, state/national Shooting Sports, State 4-H Photography, receive a Texas 4-H Foundation Scholarship, identification/judging team competition, wins a class in any livestock competition showing under the title as a 4-H member at any of the major shows in Houston, San Antonio, State Fair of Texas, Southwestern Livestock Show, Heart of Texas, El Paso, San Angelo, Belt Buckle Bonanza, Star of Texas or any state/national junior breeding show.
4-H families can order additional patches at their own expense. It is the responsibility of the 4-H family to notify the Extension Office when they are eligible for one of these awards. The 4-Her will receive their recognition of a state winner at the county awards banquet.
