Messy park problems

Dear editor,

I am writing in regards to our city park.

I have to admit, I don’t often take my children there, but the times I have gone there have left me with the question of who is responsible for the cleanliness of the park?

Is this the responsibility of the city? One Saturday morning my children and I visited the park and I noticed used prophylactics in and around the parking lot and curb.

Needless to say, this disgusted me. I was just there earlier this week and there was trash thrown all over the grounds.

Not only are the grounds a mess, my 5-year-old needed to use the restroom and I was horrified at the appearance and smell of these facilities.

In my opinion, the restrooms are not even safe or sanitary enough to use. Please tell me something can be done about this problem.

In summary, can we all show better stewardship? Teach our young ones to do the respectable thing and clean up after themselves.

We owe it to our children and this community to appreciate and take care of the few amenities that this great small town has to offer.
