Busy time for Gause 4-H Club members, leader

By WANDA LEE Reporter correspondent
The youngsters in town had the opportunity to go to Vacation Bible School in the morning or the evening or both this week. The Full Gospel Church had their VBS in the mornings until noon and the Baptists held their VBS in the evenings. At 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 16, the Full Gospel Church will have time for parents and friends to come by their VBS program and then at 6 p.m. Friday, family and friends are invited to the VBS program at Gause Baptist Church.

Members of the Gause 4-H Club had a busy and fun weekend as they attended the Southeast District 8 4-H County camp at Lakeview Methodist Conference Center near Palestine. There were over 20 attending from Milam County clubs. Those attending from Gause were Alyssa Kornegay, Holly Kornegay, Calla Vinton, Ginny Cunningham, Kendall Lee, Nate Gray, Seth Vinton, Cameron Cooper and myself.

Then on Monday morning, Kendall Lee, Connelly Cooper and Cameron Cooper attended Citizenship Day in Cameron. This was sponsored by the Milam County Farm Bureau and helped 4-H members gain insight into how our count y government works and how our representatives in Washington serve us on important issues for the people of Texas.

The group even met with Congressman John Carter. They also went to the county commissioners court meeting, mock congressional elections and enjoyed a pizza lunch.

Dorsie Wilson asked me to remind ever yone about their Smith Family Reunion Fish Fry at her home at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 16. When asked what we should bring to help out with the meal she said “nothing.” Now that’s what I call a great invitation.

Patsy Carroll had back surgery last week and we w ish her a speedy recovery.

Billy Todd is out and about and steadily improving from his recent surgery.
