McCormick

A memorial service for Gloria Glen McCormick, 76, of San Gabriel was held Saturday, July 10, 2010, in Friendship United Methodist Church near Davilla with Rev. David Persons officiating.

Mrs. McCormick died Saturday, June 26, at Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale.

She was born July 4, 1933, in Bell County to Edward Alvin Freeman and Wilma Roselle Cryer.

A longtime Milam County resident, she worked for 30 years as executive secretary for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Investigative Division.

Mrs. McCormick was preceded in death by a grandson, L.R. Martin, and a brother, David Quinton Freeman.

Survivors are her husband, Eugene McCormick of Buckholts; a son, James McQuary and wife Denise of Sharp; two daughters, Lu A nn Daniell and husband David of Sharp, Tammy Harkins of Temple; a brother, Charles Edward Freeman of Fort Worth; a sister, Nan Freeman Griffes of Kyle; five grandchildren, Meagan McQuary, Holly Hamby and husband Paul, all of Austin, Jonah Kane Ingram and Jacob Scott Harkins, both of Temple, Katrina Lynn Blair and husband Clayton of Belton; and six great-grandchildren, Holden West Hamby, Hope Kathryn Ingram, Cole Mack Ingram, Ashlyn Raine Ingram, Seth Ryan Ingram and Ayden Jack Blair.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
