Cattle, missing, strayed in Milam

Milam County sheriff’s deputies were kept busy with “cattle calls” during the past week as there were two reports of missing cattle, both in the Rockdale area.

Deputies checked out a missing cattle report Saturday from Avenue C in Milano.

A second missing cattle call was received Monday from a County Road 302 location northwest of Rockdale.

The sheriff’s department also checked out 17 straying livestock calls during the week, an average of almost three per day, in all areas of the county.

Arrests

Brian Lee Woodward, 38, of Angleton, was booked into the county jail Friday on a charge of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.

He was released after posting $10,000 bond.

DPS Trooper Mark Berry made a drug arrest on July 13. Teresa Gutierrez, 28, of Rosebud, was charged with possession of a dangerous drug and resisting arrest, search or transport.

She was released after posting $5,000 bond.
