One month before school

It seems the youth in our area are all keeping busy with first one thing and then another. I have heard some parents saying they have not’ been hearing the “I’m bored” as much this summer. I know our granddaughter Kendall has been a busy young lady this summer with activities with her friends and family. Take advantage, just a little over a month and then back to school.

Thomas and McKenzie Mathews recently had cousins Destyne Schwenk of Allentown, Pennsylvania and David Lundy of Silver Springs, Virginia visiting here with them and their parents, Vicky and Vince Mathews.

Matthew Sanders visited in The Woodlands last week with his aunt Sherry Baker and family. On Tuesday, Rev. Jimmy and Karen Sanders went to Houston to visit with his sister Linda and niece Stephanie Graham.

Dustin and Blake McBee spent last week in Gause with grandparents Donnie and Ma xine McBee to attend Vacation Bible School at the Baptist church. Their parents, Keith and Teresa, came for the weekend and they all returned home to the Houston area on Sunday afternoon.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
