Clark

Graveside services for Pat Clark, 86, of Rockdale were held Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Oak Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Doug Springer officiating.

Mr. Clark died Monday, July 19, at Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale.

A lifelong resident of the Rockdale area, he was born Jan. 1, 1924, in Thorndale to Edward Arthur and Beulah Lee Rasberry Clark.

He married Jeanene Arledge on Sept. 9, 1950, in the Milam County Courthouse.

Mr. Clark attended the University of Texas for three years, majoring in geology, and also attended Texas A&I and business college.

He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Marines.

Mr. Clark was a carpenter and was a member of Union Carpenters. After he retired, he worked at Walmart in sporting goods.

He was a member of Murray Street Church of Christ in Rockdale.

Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Helen Childs.

Survivors are his wife, Jeanene Clark of Rockdale; two sons, Jeff Clark and Joe Clark, both of Rockdale; a daughter, Julie Clark of Rockdale; and four grandchildren, Cherie Kocian, Christie Young, Elisha Betchan and John Patrick Clark; also, 12 great-grandchildren.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
