Graveside services for Porter E. Key, 87, of Willis where held Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at Oak Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Doug Springer of Rockdale Full Gospel Church officiating.
Mr. Key died Saturday, July 17, at his home in Willis.
He was born July 17, 1923, in Milam County to Robert E. Key and Georgia Gooch.
He married Winnie Pernitza on Oct. 16, 1971 in Porter.
Mr. Key was a Willis resident for 30 years.
He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army, and received the Bronze Star for his service.
Mr. Key was a retired salesman with Murray Foods of Houston, where he worked for 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Willie Barker Key; a son, Edward Key; and a brother, Alton Key.
Survivors are a daughter, Karla Key of McAllen; two stepdaughters, Carolyn Howell of Lewisville, Betty Jo Perkins of Porter; a brother, Robert Key of Sealy; a grandson, Eric; a granddaughter, Vanessa; and two sisters, Wandale Stricker of Picayune, Mississippi, Ruby Swayze of Rockdale.
