Annual school supply drive now under way

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6525, and its ladies auxiliary, are now sponsoring their annual school supply drive.

Donations of school supplies may be taken to the Chamber of Commerce Rock House headquarters or to the VFW Hall.

Project Grad car wash, bake sale set Sunday

The RHS Class of 2011 will hold a car wash and bake sale on Sunday, Aug. 8, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at Texas Plaza & Brookshire Brothers.

RHS support T-shirts and Battle of the Bell T-shirts will also be sold. “This will be one of the last opportunities to purchase Battle tees, so get them while you can,” said Debbie Fisher, publicist.

Appraisal Review Board schedules Friday session

CA MERON—The Appraisal Review Board of the Milam County Appraisal District will meet at 8:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6 in the MCAD office, 120-B North Houston Street in Cameron.

Milano High School student schedules ready

MILANO—Schedules are ready to be picked up on the following days along with updates of student four-year plan with counselor Cathy Brown.

Office hours during this time are from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 6, seniors; Monday, Aug. 9, juniors; Tuesday, Aug. 10, sophomores; and Wednesday, Aug. 11, freshmen.

Final free Kay movie scheduled Aug. 12

“Where the Red Fern Grows” is the last in a series of free, outdoor summer movies and will be screened after dark Thursday, Aug. 12 at the Kay Theater.

Hot dogs and drinks are offered. Proceeds go toward the renovation of the Quonset-hut-style building.
