Registration dates set for Gause youth soccer league

Are your youngsters ready to play soccer? The Gause Parents Club, as in the past number of years, is sponsoring a Gause Soccer league for boys and girls ages 4-13 as of Sept. 1, 2010. Registration dates are Aug. 23, Aug. 26 and Aug. 31 at the Gause school cafeteria from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The cost is $40 per child for ages 4 through 9. Older players ages 9 through 12 will be playing in the Bryan league where the cost will be $60.

It is open to all students in Gause, Milano, Mumford, Hearne and Calvert school districts.

Our sincere sympathy to the family of Margie Kornegay who passed away on Aug. 5. Funeral services were held in Cameron on Aug. 9.

Roy Dean Baggerly is home after having to spend several days in the Bryan hospital with heart problems. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Visiting in our families’ homes here over the weekend included Mar y and Jim Lee, Cathy Watson, Lindsey and friend Michael, all of Houston and Craig Lee of San Antonio. On Saturday afternoon, Tom Lee of Rockport and Mark Newman of Milano visited with Wayne and Jim. Sunday we all attended the Holdiness Family Reunion at the civic center in Milano.

If you want to know who is teaching in the Gause ISD they will hold a “Meet the Teachers” from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19. This is a chance to meet who will be teaching your child/ grandchild and a chance to meet who will be teaching where and what in our school.

Gause ISD received “exemplary” in TEA accountability ratings. Way to go students and teachers. We have an education system here in Gause to be very proud of.
