Buckholts ISD nears superintendent choice

BUCKHOLTS—A decision on a new Buckholts ISD superintendent is nearing, according to Dr. Henry Bonorden, who is serving in an interim capacity in that post.

Dr. Bonorden said 34 application for the position have been received and are being reviewed by the school board.

He said the field is being narrowed by trustees, who met Monday, and several interviews will be scheduled.

Board members are seeking a replacement for longtime Supt. Kent Dutton who left Buckholts for a teaching position in the Temple ISD.

Buckholts serves grades pre-K through 12 and recently attained a “recognized” ranking in the annual education report card ratings issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
