Gause ISD looking for big enrollment gain

GAUSE—The Gause ISD is looking for a big jump in enrollment when students begin attending classes Monday morning.

Supt. Perry Bell said Gause expects 183 students to answer

MILLER- MIL LER- t he fir st bell, c om par ed to the 155 who began classes the first day of the 2009-10 term.

That would be an 18 percent enrollment increase in one year.

“We are maxing out our room size and can’t accept any more transfers,” he said.

Gause ISD recently received an exemplary rating from the Texas Education Agency, the highest mark attainable.

Gause ISD is also considering building a high school. The district currently serves grades pre-K through eight.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
