New student registration set at RHS

New student registration at Rockdale High School will be from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18.

New students need to take a copy of their birth certificate, their social security card, immunization records, proof of residency and a copy of last year’s report card if possible when going to register. All new students must have a TB skin test within the last year.

6th grade orientation Thursday at RJH

Rockdale Junior High w ill host a sixth grade orientation on Thursday, Aug. 19 in the junior high commons, according to principal April Eschberger.

“All sixth grade parents and students are encouraged to attend. Students will be given schedules, meet the principals, counselor and teachers,” Eschberger said. “They w ill follow their class schedule on a shortened bell schedule. On the bell schedule, students and parents will experience passing the period and meet each of the teachers.”

Students will also be given a locker and be able to practice using the combination to open the locker. Additional questions can be answered by calling the junior high at 512-430-6100.

A lso, sixth grade students are inv ited to at tend “ Tiger Camp” from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11 at the junior high. During “Tiger Camp” students will become familiar with the junior high campus, meet other sixth graders and engage in team building activities, Eschberger said.

Students should report to the junior high gym at 9 a.m for “Tiger Camp”.

Schedule pick up Friday at RHS

Rockdale High School students can pick up their 2010-11 schedules at the high school office on Friday, Aug. 20.

Seniors and juniors may pick up their schedules from 8-11:30 a.m. Sophomores and freshman can pick up schedules from 1-3:30 p.m. Signs will be posted as to where in the school schedules may be picked up.

Schedule changes may also be make during the assigned times.

Students may purchase high school parking permits in the office when they pick up their schedules. Permits are $2 each. Students must take their driver’s license, license plate number and their insurance card to the office before they will be issued a permit.

Gause ISD ‘Meet the Teacher’ Thursday

GAUSE–Supt. Perry Bell has announced the annual “Meet the Teacher” night for Gause ISD. The event is scheduled for 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19.

PATCH Club to meet at MISD on August 31

MIL A NO–Milano’s PATCH Club will hold its first meeting of the school year on Tuesday, Aug. 31, according to spokesperson Rebecca Telg. The meeting is at 6 p.m. in Milano Elementary.

Milano Alumni offering Fall mini scholarships

MIL A NO —Mila no A lumni Scholarship Committee is now offering mini scholarships for the 2010 fall semester, according to secretary Carolyn Hafley.

All MHS graduates who have completed two semesters of college or trade school and are enrolled for this fall are eligible to apply.
