We’re ready for one of those ‘scattered showers’ in area

Summer has indeed arrived and one of those “scattered” showers would surely be welcomed in the area.

Lanell Spence has returned from a 7-day cruise to Alaska. Each year a group of Milano ex-students enjoy a cruise and Lanell enjoyed being a part of this event.

Hollins and Denyce Spence recently attended a fund-raising event in Giddings. Visiting Hollins and Denyce Spence was Dallas Spence from Dallas.

Claude and Lanell Spence and Mickey and Robin Exner enjoyed a gathering of family and friends at the home of Billy and Nora Light in Cameron on Saturday night.

Kaitlyn Gilbert of Fairfield enjoyed a visit with her “Mamaw and Papaw” Hollins and Denyce. Denyce, Kaitlyn, Madeline and Abbie Navarre enjoyed a picnic near Franklin where they met Kayla, Evan and Ely Gilbert for Kaitlyn to return home.

Jerr y and Lanna Caldwell, Christian Vargas and Tyler Caldwell have returned from a week’s vacation in Pensacola, Florida where they visited Chris, Arielle, Jaden and Austin Caldwell.

Lanell Spence enjoyed a recent visit with Lenora Vitito in Temple.

Madeline Navarre enjoyed a visit with her grandparents, Scott and Susan Dearrman in Waxahachie while her mom, Lisa, attended a scrapbooking seminar with friends in Dallas. Abbie enjoyed some special time with dad, Bro. Brandon Navarre, while they were away.

Everyone is invited to mark your calendars and make plans to attend the First Wednesday fellowship at Forest Grove on Sept. 1. The evening will begin with a meal at 6 p.m. followed by activities for the adults as well as youth activities for the children of all ages.

Rod and Lu Spence traveled to Brenham recently to attend grandson, Spence Rahm’s baseball games. Rod and Lu were among several from the community who enjoyed visiting with old friends at the Big Blue Band reunion in Rockdale.

Matt Mundkowsky and Spence Rahm of Tomball are enjoying a few days with Rod and Lu before beginning another school year.
