Palmaro

Ser v ices for Ouida Celine Baird Palmaro, 84, of San Gabriel were held Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at San Gabriel Christian Church with Elton Ray Barron officiating. Burial followed in Locklin Cemetery near Thorndale.

Mrs. Palmaro died Wednesday, Aug. 11, in a Bartlett nursing home.

She was born on June 25, 1926, in San Gabriel to Clarence Augustus and Emma Texanna (Culp) Baird.

She married Joseph Palmaro on June 12, 1944, at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio.

Mrs. Palmaro was a San Gabriel resident during her childhood and for the past 25 years.

She was secretar y for the State Health Department for 10 years and worked for 25 years at various other businesses with her husband.

Mrs. Palmaro was a member of San Gabriel Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Palmaro, on March 17, 1997; her parents; her paternal grandparents, Henry Francis and Lucy Ann (Rigsby) Baird; and her maternal grandparents, John Franklin and Jessie Dee (Newton) Culp.

Survivors are three brothers, Bobby Joe Baird and Gene Kirk Baird, both of San Gabriel, John Wayne Baird of Cypress, and a sister, Lucy Dee Baird Shelton of San Gabriel; also, a number of nieces and nephews.
