Beta Nu inducts two new members

BELTON–Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Area VIII Workshop was held Saturday, Aug. 14 at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and included the induction of two new members, Rebecca Fisher and Sara Orler.

Fisher is a first grade teacher at Thorndale Elementary School and has been a classroom teacher for 15 years. Orler is a counselor at Moody Middle School and also a 15-year classroom veteran. Both were initiated into Beta Nu Chapter which draws its members from Falls, Leon, Madison, Milam and Robertson counties.

Taking part in the induction ceremony were Shanna Denson, ceremonials chairman for Beta Nu Chapter, Dr. Marlene Zipperlen, Area VIII coordinator, Carolyn Groseclose, State Scholarship committee member and Susan Larson, Beta Nu treasurer.

Seventy-tw0 workshop participants from fifteen chapters in Area VIII welcomed the new members.

The Area VIII Workshop is held ever y two years to provide members with information about the various chapter offices and committees, programs and projects, society business and recruitment.

Delta Kappa Gamma Society was founded in 1929 by Dr. Annie Webb Blanton along with 11 other teachers at public schools or university level. This honor society now numbers over 150,000 key women educators in 14 countries.
