Cameron woman charged with forgery

An 18-year-old Cameron woman was arrested last week and charged with two counts of forgery of a financial instrument.

Qwanisha Roshelle Lewis was also charged with violating her probation on an original charge of assault on a public servant.

She remains in the county jail in lieu of $30,000 bond.

Chase, investigation

Bobby Ray Lockett, 24 of Cameron was charged with evading arrest or detention last Wednesday after a Cameron-area incident involving Deputy Eddie Veracruz.

Lockett was also charged with assault by contact, driving while license invalid and failure to appear (bail jumping).

He was released after posting $8,000 bond and was fined $774.

Deputy James Woodward is investigating a reported sexual assault incident in the area of FM 1600.

The incident was reported to the sheriff’s department on Thursday.
