Troopers probe accidents

Milam County Department of Public Safety state troopers investigated four traffic accidents during the past week in southern and western Milam County, including one within the Rockdale city limits.

Only injury accident was reported at 11:08 a.m. Aug. 18 on US 79 near Gause.

Trooper Broderick Sims said Jonathan Brewer, 18, of Henderson was treated at Richards Memorial Hospital, Rockdale, after his vehicle rolled following a blowout.

Damages were termed moderate. The Milano Volunteer Fire Department was called to the scene.

Trooper Erik Gaston investigated a Monday afternoon wreck at the corner of Alamo and Post Oak in Rockdale.

He listed the driver as 43-yearold Linda Alford of Robinson.

Gaston said the wreck involved a parked vehicle. He said no injuries were reported and damage was termed moderate to both vehicles.

Sims said a vehicle operated by Jamie Gonzales, 30, of Rogers, collided with a deer at 7 a.m. Friday on FM 437 north of Davilla.

No injuries were reported and vehicle damages were termed moderate.

Moderate damage, and no injuries were reported in a 7:15 a.m. Tuesday accident on county Road 455 east of FM 486 in the Thorndale area, according to Trooper Mark Berry.

Driver was listed as 19-year-old Kevin Gatton of Thrall.

The Milano VFD was called out for traffic control at the corner of US 79 and Fourth Street in Milano at 10:23 p.m. Friday when a vehicle slid into a ditch.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
