Woman arrested for ‘biting, kicking’ Rockdale officer
A 25-year-old Rockdale woman was arrested Sunday in connec tion with an incident in which a Rockdale officer was kicked and bitten.
Anna Marie DeLeon was charged with assault on a public servant and criminal mischief and remains in the Milam County Jail in lieu of bond totaling $16,500.
Lt. J. D. Newlin said Ofc. S. A. Smith, who was involved in the incident, was not seriously injured.
“He received a call to an East Cameron Ave. (US 79) location that a woman had put her fist through two windows and was bleeding,” Newlin said.
“He was in the process of making an arrest for criminal mischief when the kicking and biting occurred,” Newlin said.
Police said two bicycles were stolen in Rockdale during the past week
Newlin said police were called to an incident where a truck was keyed at the junior-high school.
Also under investigation are an assault and a case of public intoxication.
Police said traffic citations issued during the past week included 24 for speeding, 12 for no valid MVI sticker, five for failure to maintain financial responsibility, four for operating a vehicle with expired license plates, three each for driving while license invalid, failure to report change of address or name and no seat belt use, two each for expired driver’s licence and running a stop sign and one each for operating an ATV in a public roadway and no helmet when required.
Police issued warrants during the past week for non-payment of child support, driving while licence invalid, disorderly conduct/ language and parent contributing to non-attendance.
Police did not investigate any traffic accidents during the past week.
