School in full swing at MISD
Milano schools have began and are in full swing. Parents, be sure to check backpacks for those that have them. Papers are given to students to take home and be returned with parents signatures.

Luminant launches 2010 scholar environmental essay-writing competition
DALL AS—For the past two years, fifth-grade students across Texas have demonstrated creative environmental conservation ideas – from community recycling programs to planting neighborhood tree farms – as part of the Luminant Scholar Program. Four Rockdalians on
TSTC honor roll
WACO–Four Rockdale residence have been named to the Texas State Technical College President’s Honor Roll after posting a 4.0 grade point average for the 2010 spring semester.
Arthur Garza, Jose Montelongo, Henry Pelzel and Bryan Thornton all received the honor. Full Story
There’s no bigger school transition for Rockdale ISD students than fifth grade (elementary) to sixth grade (junior-high) and the annual sixth-grade orientation at the junior-high campus drew a large crowd Thursday. Principal April Eschberger said schedules were handed out and students mingled with administrators, counselors and teachers. Full Story

GUESS WHICH CAMPUS
There’s a big clue. Of course, it’s the lockers and this is Rockdale Junior-High School. RJH is now the only Rockdale ISD campus with lockers after the last ones were removed from the old part of the high school during the summer. Lockers were not installed in the new part of RHS. While they remained in the older part during 2009-10 they were not in use. Full Story
