BIGGEST CHANGE

There’s no bigger school transition for Rockdale ISD students than fifth grade (elementary) to sixth grade (junior-high) and the annual sixth-grade orientation at the junior-high campus drew a large crowd Thursday. Principal April Eschberger said schedules were handed out and students mingled with administrators, counselors and teachers. A separate “Tiger Camp” was held for sixth-graders on Aug. 11 to also familiarize sixth graders with their new campus. RJH enrolled 380 students on Monday, one less than the 381 who enrolled the first day of 2009-10.
