Distribution of family food boxes is Friday

Capital Area Food Bank will distribute “family food boxes” at 9 a.m. Friday at 811 Burleson Street, according to Denise Sifuentes, spokesperson.

“These are for families with children under 18 living in the household,” Sifuentes said. “This is not a mass distribution.”

Valid ID is required. The program is provided through a government grant to assist families through summer months.

Families may receive 50 pounds of food for each month, June through September. Since Rockdale’s distribution began in July, Sifuentes said this month’s distribution will give an extra 50 pounds of food per family to cover June’s missed date.

For more information, call Sifuentes at 446- 6475.
