MS benefit raised $15,126 for patient

Dear editor,

I want to express my sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the people that came out to support a great cause on Aug. 7.

I was diagnosed with MS about 16 months ago, so I have been looking for a way to help research this disease.

That’s when my family and I decided to hold a fund-raiser for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society that turned out to be an overwhelming success.

I am from the Milano area originally, but I moved away over ten years ago, so to see the generosity and love that people show to one another, even after having been gone so long, was extremely heartwarming.

Our event could not have been possible without the help of so many wonderful people.

I wanted to take a brief moment to thank all of the people that contributed in any way to our event.

We had people bringing in donations all day long, as well as people helping organize the 72 live auction items we had and the approximately 40 silent auction items.

We had people spending their day out in the heat to cook some delicious barbecue, hosting a horseshoe tournament and even helping spread the word of God to others.

We had people inside that helped host our pool tournament and serve all of our patrons.

People helped organize our motorcycle ride and contest as well. We even had an amazing DJ to provide music throughout the evening.

I just wanted to give a special thanks to all of our patrons and volunteers that came out that day and throughout the event, including our DJ, auctioneers, motorcycle stops, auction volunteers and to the many friends and family that made this event so special.

Without your help this could not have been possible so thank you.

We raised $15,126.76. With love and gratitude, Kristi Bode kristibode@ymail.com
