Spikers scoop up second win against Reagan Tuesday night
The Rockdale Lady Tigers held off Austin Reagan 25-16, 25-23, 25-22 to secure their second victory of the season Tuesday night at Tiger Gymnasium.
Katie Strelsky dished off six assists to lead the Lady Tigers (2-5), while Krista Phillips blasted five kills, Bailey Pannell served up four aces and Jill Young and Kathryn Dodd recorded t wo block s each against the Class 4A school. Full Story

Spikers tripped up Tuesday in home opener by Troy
Thorndale’s Lady Dogs volleyball team had a tough go of it in their season home opener on Tuesday night against the Troy Trojanettes.
The two teams went the distance, with the Lady Dogs (5-7) on the losing end of the 23-25, 25-21, 18-25, 25-23, 11-15 match.
Heather Butterworth had an outstanding night on the service line with seven aces. She also had two blocks. Full Story

THORNDALE—A sixth straight playoff appearance is on the horizon as the Thorndale Bulldogs kickoff the 2010 season in Class 2A for the first time since 2001.

MILANO—Milano will get the 2010 football campaign started on Friday when they host the Waco-Texas Christian Academy (TCA) Stars at Pruitt Field.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Craig Jentsch will begin his second season as head coach of the Eagles. Milano finished 6-3 last season, a fourth place district finish at 2-3. Full Story
Lady Eagles exact revenge on Cayuga in Leon tourney
No. 6 Class A team meets its match against No. 4 2A team Rogers on Tuesday
The No. 6 ranked Lady Eagles got a little revenge over the weekend, defeating some top 10 ranked teams in the Leon tournament, but fell to some stiff competition on the road Tuesday night in Rogers.
Milano (12-5) fell to Rogers, ranked fourth in the Class 2A 11-25, 25-23, 17-25, 13-25. Full Story
Gause soccer league

GAUSE—The Gause soccer league will be holding registration on Aug. 26, Aug. 31 and Sept. 2 at the Gause school cafeteria from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
The cost is $40 per child for ages 4 through 9. Older players ages 9 through 12 will be playing in the Bryan league where the cost will be $60. Full Story
